St Marks Headmaster 1893 - 1903

According to the literature I found on Mr Jabez Darricotte he was a kind and well educated man and respected by all who knew him.
After leaving St Marks in 1903 he became Supervisor of all the primary schools under Bolton Education Authority
Jabez became editor of the Bolton Guild Journal a he proposed a Mutual Insurance Fund which would pay a sum to widows and their families of local government officers who died in service. This idea was adopted nationally leading to the creation of The Benevolent & Orphan Fund.
