CockerI was born in 1953, other family member that attended St Marks were my sister Kathleen, my enrolment at St Marks was 1082 in the mixed register on the 10th September 1962. I still live in bolton Auberson road just of lever edge lane 5 mins from my birthplace grecian crescent & the old school i work for Mysons towel warmers on nelson street 10 mins from home 5 mins from school so i still pass the school a lot . well all for now mate keep up the excellent work well done.take care. Kevin James McClusky I was born in 1958, My sister Karen
and I lived at 147 Plover St then 22 School Hill, I was registered at
St Marks in the name of my father Stanley on the 9th April 1964 my enrolment
number was 1225 in the Mixed register. I left St Marks on the 31st July
1970 and emigrated to South Africa in December, and lost touch with everyone.
Currently married and working as an IT manager at a construction company.

David Dixon I was born in 1955. I lived at No39 Whittaker
St . I was registered at St Marks in my father's name Jack Dixon on the
25th April 1960. My enrolment number was 0952. I was transferred to the
Mixed part of the school in June 1962, I left St Marks age 11 on the 29th
July 1966. Soon after leaving St Marks my family and I emigrated to Australia
but we returned two years later, I continued my education at Brownlow
Fold High for Boys and then at Manchester rd Technical College in Engineering.
I have worked in Mexico, Germany and Holland, also for a Government body
as a Civil Servant and in Her Majesty's Forces. I now work for a major
company (23 years) as a research assistant and in I.T. I have four children
from a previous marriage and a previous relationship, Mark, Darren, and
twins Ryan and Sarah.I have lived in Hindley for the last 26 years, I re-married in 1998 and now live with my wife Anne. Jack Dixon I was born in 1932. I lived on Manchester
Rd. I was registered at St Marks in the name of my father John Dixon.
My enrolment number is unknown as yet. Transferred from Victoria primary
to St Marks then to St Bartholomew's I left St Bartholomew's 18th April
1946, photo right shows Teachers from St Bartholomew's in 1945. I married Vera Nicholson who was in the same class at St Marks, we had one child together Jayne who was born in Australia and David from a previous marriage. I have been in the Army and the T.A and I have had my own taxi and coach business in Bolton. Vera and I are no longer married and I am now retired and live with my wife Lily in the Halliwell area. Anthony Edmundson I was born in 1958. I lived in George St .
I was registered in my fathers name Cyril at St Marks on the 6th January
1964. My enrolment number was 1177 in the Mixed Register. I left St Marks
on the 30th October 1968 aged 10 and if continued at St Marks would have
left at age 11 in 1970. My family and I moved to Harwood in 1968 and I
attended Longsight junior school and then Turton High School. I have worked
for the post office, I'm a musician and I now work with computers for
a Government department in the Bolton area, as well as doing some web
design work. I am married with two children, Rachel and Paul (aged 12

Edward Godding I was Born in 1948. I lived in Bull Lane
when I was registered at Victoria School. I left Victoria school in 1958.
After leaving Victoria School and leaving Bolton to emigrate to Quebec,
Canada at the age of ten (I am the only one of my family that does not
live in England) I went on to finish my schooling to obtain a degree in
Industrial Drafting, and have worked in many areas of large industries
such as foundries, Pratt and Whitney aircraft engines. Also worked for
Beloit Wormsley building paper machinery, also traveled throughout Canada
in mining, pulp and paper plants as a technical service rep. I am presently
working for a company that makes ski lift, gondolas and cable cars as
a quality assurance technician. I have been married twice and have two
twin sons Stacey and Marc, and live in a quiet area of Quebec in the mountains
about sixty miles north of Montreal. Have returned often to Bolton to
visit my family and see the best part of Bolton GREAT LEVER it really
feels good to see were I come from, and feels good to recharge the batteries

Hindle Gregory born in 1941, lived at 65 Platt Street
(no longer in existence), until I married Gillian in 1969 when I moved
to Ladybridge, Deane, where I still live. I have one son, Peter, born
1972. After leaving St Mark's School in 1952, I attended White Bank School,
Wigan Road until 1954 when I moved on to Bolton Technical College, Manchester
Road. When I left school in 1956, I started work as an office boy at Bolton
Gate Co. Ltd., Waterloo Street, rising to Chief Estimator. I stayed for
31 years until being made redundant in 1987 after the company was involved
in a take-over. I was self-employed in the same trade from 1987 to 1997,
when I retired. |

Gordon Nicholson Gordon was born 2nd August 1928 and
lived at 57 Sidney St then at 67 Grecian St . Registered at St Marks in
the name of his father William on the 18th January 1934. Gordon's enrolment
number was 0204 in the Infant register. Transferred to the Mixed part
of the school in 1936 and would have left St Marks age 14 in 1942. Gordon
stayed a bachelor all his life. Sadly Gordon died after complications
from an accident at work, that had left him partially disabled.His sisters Violet Nicholson, Lily Nicholson, Vera Nicholson and brother in-law Jack Dixon also went to St Marks as did nephew David Dixon. Details from the Archives and other information supplied by David Dixon. |

Norman Wilson I was born in 1925. I lived on York Street
and Back John Taylor St then moved to Deane. I was registered at St Marks
in 1929 in one of the missing registers. I left St Marks age 9 in 1934.

Roy Woodcock I was born in 1941 in Moncriefe St . I also
lived in Thynne St then Matthew St . Unfortunately I was registered at St Marks in one of the missing registers. I left St Marks in 1953. I still
live in Bolton in Bromley Cross. I have regular contact with ex class
mate Harold Parkinson who lives in the Morris Green area and I also meet

May Gallagher now Price
Lily Nicholson Lily was Born 9th January 1931. Living
at No57 Sidney St before moving to 67 Grecian St . Registered at St Marks
in the name of her father William Nicholson on the 29th April 1935. her
enrolment number was 0280 in the Infant register. Transferred to the Mixed
part of the school on the 23rd June 1938 and would have left St Marks
age 14 in 1945. Lily married Jeff Simpson, they last lived together in
Gaskell St , Halliwell. Sadly Lily died in 1977 and is very dearly missed,
Jeff also died some years later.
Vera Nicholson I was born in 1933. Lived at No57 Sidney
St before moving to 67 Grecian St . I was registered at St Marks in the
name of my father William Nicholson on the 5th April 1937. My enrolment
number was 0375 in the Infant register. Transferred to the Mixed part
of the school on the 29th August 1940 and I left St Marks age 14 in 1947.
I married Jack Dixon who was in the same class, we had one child Jayne
who was born in Australia and I adopted Jack's son David. I am now divorced,
I still live in the Halliwell area.
Violet Nicholson Born in 1926. Violet lived at 57 Sidney
St then moving to 67 Grecian St . Registered at St Marks in the name of
her father William Nicholson on the 18th January 1926. Enrolment number
was 0203 in the Infant register. Transferred to the Mixed part of the
school around 1934and would have left St Marks age 14 in 1940. Violet
married William Hughes they had one child, Lynn. Sadly William passed
away, Violet and Lynn still live in Bolton.
