Bill Egerton, (now passed) said he and Tommy Holt, were at the Church, when the demolishers were removing the last Gargoyle, from the bell tower, they had smashed the others to pieces. Tommy offered them some money, if they would get it down without damage
He was going to put it in his garden. Someone let it slip and it crashed down and smashed.What a shame.
